This last month and a half has been a very long and stressful wait. A very long wait to know what's going on with my job. In the Jordan School District if you are hired after January 1st your job is not guaranteed no matter what. First I had to wait to find out if they would even have a health position. Originally they didn't and then they had a Health/History position. After they know the position they will be hiring for they have to first place RIS teachers which are reduction in staff teachers. Basically the enrollment drops and they don't need as many teachers. These teachers are a priority. So once I knew their was a position I had to wait for a week and a half to see if anybody was going to take it. This week of waiting about the RIS teachers I could not sleep all week. Not joking either. My heart was racing all night every night. Once I found out the coast was clear they posted the job. The job was posted as a history health position and it has to be posted for a 5 school days and they have to interview a minimum of 3 people. So this was great news but then a few days after it was posted they changed the position to straight health...even better for me but this meant another 5 days of waiting. So finally last Friday on the 6th I interviewed for the health position at 9am! I answered all the questions no problem and was very confident but when I'm anxious I get red and blotchy. It's very noticeable and embarrassing. So they were hoping to tell me about the job on Friday after school. Then after school on Friday they had to interview 1 more teacher on Monday and would know by then. Of course on Monday no phone call. Finally today, Tuesday, I was teaching at the school and they told me they had now 2 more interviews and would know by the end of the day. Well the end of the day hit and I still didn't know anything. I'm driving home and feeling really down and disappointed and starting to yell at not so bright drivers and my phone rings at 3:44pm (the work day ends at 3pm) and the Vice Principal gave me the best news....I'M OFFICIALLY CALLING TO OFFER YOU A FULL TIME JOB HERE AT HERRIMAN HIGH SCHOOL FOR NEXT YEAR!!!!! of course I accepted and am thrilled!!!1
I'm so grateful and way excited to finally call my self a Full Time Teacher of Herriman High School!
